Managing Change
In this one day workshop we look at change warts and all, and look to understand what the resistance to change is and why some change is such an uphill struggle with so many of our colleagues.
Our Workshop Description
“Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time.
What we really want is for things to remain the same but get better.”
Sydney J. Harris - American journalist. (1917 – 1986).
Change is a constant thing in our lives, yet our ability to push against it and try to avoid or even stop it is also constant.
This workshop examines the many challenges change brings and identifies the various types of people in a change process.
In some cases, the impending change will upset pretty much everyone in the organisation, and we need to know how to mitigate the impacts of that. In fact, we need to understand how sometimes we can agree with most people's thinking, understand their resistance and negativity, and still be able to turn things around to prove that the change needs to happen.
Changes will happen, and whilst we can’t remove all the negatives from each person's perspective, we can plan, prepare and manage change surprisingly well when we have the tools and processes to do so.
Always remember to get your people to think about the long game.
“Some” of our Typical Content
(All our workshops can be adapted to meet your organisational requirements)
Who Should Attend and Why?
Who? - All Leaders and Managers who have to manage change.
Why? - Change is costly, and if you’re going to spend money and use resources, you need to ensure you get the best ROI possible. When change impacts many of your employees, it may be unwelcome and unwanted, but if it is right for the organisation, you need to know how to position it, advertise it, and sell it.
Don’t hide away from those who push back against change. Come along and chat with us to understand how those who push against change can be your greatest ally as you plan and prepare the whole organisation for the impending change.
Our Delivery Options
When you consider the content we deliver, we are sure you will understand why we always prefer to deliver our workshops, courses and programmes face-to-face.
Face-to-face workshops and courses can be held at a location of your choice or, if you wish, a central UK location, at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, located directly across from the Birmingham New Street train station.
We can deliver our workshops, courses and programmes online, although this will mean splitting elements into manageable learning events to suit the online environment.
